Scholarship Opportunities For UNN Students


Due to the overall hardship in Nigeria, many undergraduates suffer financial difficulties in the university. Most students find it hard to pay their school fees or fend for themselves while in school.

Scholarships is therefore an avenue to help students that are facing financial challenges in school.

A scholarship is a payment made to support a students education. They are awarded by the Government, Non Governmental Organizations (NGO), Companies or well meaning individuals.

However, Scholarships are scarce and highly competitive to get. In order to gain a scholarship, you need to have all the necessary requirements, prepare for the exams and hope. 

The general requirements for most scholarships are as follows:

  1. A High JAMB Score. Though this is not always a requirement, a good JAMB increases your chance of getting a scholarship.

  2. CGPA of 3.5 and above. This is for those already in 200L and above, most companies or organizations that offer scholarship require a minimum CGPA of 3.5
    in fact, the higher your CGPA, the greater your chance of getting a scholarship.

  3. Valid of Means of Identification. This could be your National Identification Card, Voters Card, Drivers License etc.

  4. Letter of Identification From Your Head of Department. Many scholarships require a valid and signed letter of identification from the HOD of your department, to prove that you are indeed a student of that department.

  5. Scanned Documents. This includes scanned copies of your WAEC and JAMB results. Also, the letter of identification and your passport. The organization awarding the scholarship will state all the documents they required scanned.
